G-Force beats out Half-Blood Prince at box office

Surprisingly for all you know, Disney's G-Force overtakes Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince only on its second-week opening. Critics were predicting, of course, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to easily outshine G-Force to become the highest gross for the second week running, but it was not to be.

The Associated Press is reporting that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came in second at the U.S box office this weekend, behind Disney's G-Force.

The sixth installment in the Harry Potter franchise has now made $222 million total (US alone), which is $14 million ahead of where part five, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," was after 12 days in theaters in 2007. And this week, "Half-Blood Prince" will start showing on 166 IMAX screens in the US, which the last "Harry Potter" movie did from the start.
